The roots of this boutique hotel go back to the 17^th century. Set in 12 acres of landscaped gardens some 40 km outside of central London, the estate was family-owned for several centuries until it became a 4-star hotel in 1977. Thirty years later in the morning of May 11, 2007, a fire broke out in the kitchen losing forever the grand old building that stood there for centuries. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The rebuilding of the new property started in 2008 replicating as closely as possible the aspect of the old building. The Garden Brasserie was built in June 2010, allowing both guests and non-guests to enjoy British cuisine in a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This was followed by a wedding chapel, the Café Sartoria and the brand new spa. These recent expansions have placed Orsett Hall firmly on the map as one of Essex's top boutique hotel destinations.

The Orsett Hall Spa is a beautiful and modern retreat in the Sartoria building in the heart of the hotel. The guests are offered a complete calm and relaxing experience from the moment they step in. The ‘adults only’-facilities comprise the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, gym and obviously a variety of beauty treatments. Alpha Wellness Sensations designed the sauna and steam room to match the swimming pool area. The sauna is supplied with a beautiful cedar frame. The rounded bench and backrests are in ayous timber. The ensemble is a warm room both atmosphere and temperature wise. The peaceful lines are also followed in the steam room by means of the glittering mosaics. The mosaic tiles have a special colour shading beautifully lit by the LED spots in the ceiling and strips beneath the benches. Enjoy wellness in style in this beautiful hotel!
