You can't call wellness hostels in Switzerland, just hostels. The international icon of the hostel - the hut next to the spruce in a blue triangle - remains applicable, but the facilities here are slightly different. In terms of rooms, the proven concept of the hostels is followed: private rooms with 2 to 6 beds for more privacy and tranquility or dorm rooms to share the day's achievements and make new friends. In any case, there is a great atmosphere for every budget. There is the possibility to book a bed/room with breakfast or you can opt for half board and enjoy a delicious meal in the Brasserie du Cervin in the evening.

The big plus here is the wellness area available to guests. And this is definitely not a little sauna tucked away in the basement somewhere. Here we are talking about a heated indoor pool with a bubble section and massage jets, a panoramic sauna, a steam room, sensory showers, and a relaxation room. All this with a view of the mountains and in the historical context of the beautiful building. The neoclassical hotel dates back to 1893 and was the base of Intersoc in St-Luc from 1979 to 2013. The renovation of the Grand Hôtel du Cervin was a colossal undertaking that began in 2019 and is now nearing completion. The panoramic sauna from Alpha Wellness Sensations fits here perfectly.

The large glass front wall of the sauna overlooks the impressive mountain landscape. Loungers are provided between this front wall and the outside window to enjoy this view during your rest. On the outside of the building, these windows are beautifully carved into the stone on the mountainside. The benches in the sauna are spread over 3 levels, with a handy ladder on the lowest bench. The side railing on the top 2 benches safely protects the sauna oven. By using hemlock as an interior finish and ayous for the benches, you get that warm sauna atmosphere that still fits a modern whole with dark tiles on the floor. How lucky for the residents and other visitors of St-Luc that this wellness is accessible to everyone!
